This two-hour workshop will focus on yoga poses in the ropes. Called ‘Yoga Kurunta’ in Sanskrit, which means ‘puppet yoga’, yoga in the ropes is an experience in freedom. Practising yoga using ropes helps create freedom and space in the body. BKS Iyengar was the originator of ropes for yoga. Using ropes allows you to go deeper into poses you know; helps you find proper alignment; and is especially beneficial for the spine, using traction to relieve pressure on the vertebrae.
