Dear yoga students, today we are taking a gentle approach to forward extensions. In this time of uncertainty and anxiety around the pandemic and social distancing, we are not our usual selves. Everything has taken on a new dimension. After recommendations from Abhijata Sridhar Iyengar, the granddaughter of B.K.S. Iyengar, we are advising students to pull back and give yourselves some slack – especially in your yoga practice. Work to 80% of your ability and effort, we hear from India. So in response, this practice is slower, gentler, and I hope will leave you feeling calm, refocused, and yet steady. Feedback is always welcome. Enjoy your practice. Keep calm, be kind. And remember that all I ask is for a donation to the local Food Bank.
