Iyengar yoga is a form of hatha yoga that is easy for every kind of body to access. Whether you’re new to yoga, still in the early stages, or looking to learn more advanced poses, these classes will inspire you.

We’ll work on poses that demand precision and alignment, whether standing, seated, prone or supine. And you will find options to suit your level within the poses.

Iyengar yoga works to integrate the body, mind and breath. We sometimes use props – bricks, straps, blankets and bolsters – devised by B.K.S. Iyengar to help students attain poses or ‘asanas’ safely.

You can often find alternatives to props within your home. Especially important during the pandemic, we will work on supporting the immune system with special sequences and pranayama (yogic breath).

Suggested equipment:

Mat, strap, 2-3 blankets, 2 bricks (pile of books), chair (dining style chair).
Basic props or funiture can be adapted in most cases.
